OUR SESSIONS

What we do.

Girls Against Anxiety group sessions provide a safe and inclusive space for girls, women, and non-binary individuals aged 18-25 to come together and support each other in dealing with anxiety and mental health challenges. In these sessions, participants engage in various activities to promote mental well-being, such as journaling, crafting, and creative workshops like jewelry making, painting, and pottery. The sessions facilitate open conversations about worries and anxieties, allowing members to share their experiences, coping mechanisms, and ways to feel better. Through laughter, tears, and compassionate listening, the group fosters a sense of belonging and community among its members. Additionally, the group encourages members to discuss their daily lives, seek support, and provide encouragement to each other. The ultimate goal is to create a space where everyone feels understood, valued, and less alone in their struggles with anxiety and mental health.

A WORKSHOP!

under 18s

Girls Against Anxiety supports the younger generation through its two-day-a-week under-18s group, which is designed to provide essential support and guidance to young individuals struggling with anxiety and mental health challenges. In these sessions, the organization creates a safe and nurturing environment where young participants can openly discuss their feelings, worries, and anxieties. The group also offers creative activities, such as crafting and journaling, to help young individuals express themselves and explore their emotions.

By focusing on the younger generation, Girls Against Anxiety aims to offer early intervention and support, empowering young individuals to cope with their mental health challenges and develop healthy coping mechanisms. Through these sessions, the organization helps young participants build self-confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging within a supportive community. The goal is to equip young individuals with the tools they need to navigate their mental health journey successfully and reach their full potential.

The extra bits

Girls against anxiety have also pushed ourselves outside of our little safe space and into the big world! Doing things like indoor climbing, swimming at our local beach and even got the train to wonder around the Christmas market. It is awesome to see our pals making big steps and being there for each other to keep pushing through our anxieties!

How our groups work.

YOUR FEELINGS MATTER.

  • Every single time I walk into Girls Against Anxiety you can feel the love as soon as you walk in the door. So no matter if you’re having a bad week or a good week you know you have people that will support you. We’ve all bonded over our anxieties and have cried and even laughed about them. But no matter what, when I leave I feel like I can take on the world again. So if you’re dealing with anxiety, please feel free to come, we would absolutely love to add to our growing family.

  • I joined Girls Against Anxiety in June after finding this instagram account and have loved every session since. There were times in the beginning where I’d be anxious before attending, but I always felt better and calmer for having gone, and now look forward to it every week. Everybody involved is so lovely and respectful, and there is no pressure to go to every session or stay the whole time. Even if you don’t feel like talking things through on any given day, GAA is still a great place to hang out with people you know are going through similar struggles.

  • I use to feel really alone in my anxiety, and that I was stupid to feel this way. But going to the sessions I’ve felt so welcomed, accepted, and understood. Everyone can relate to each other in some form or another. And it’s surprising how much just saying your worries out loud can lessen your anxiety so much. After each session I always feel happier and lighter.
